There’s still time to apply for summer opportunities in quantum science!  Here are SIX PAID opportunities for high school students and undergraduate students with upcoming application deadlines!

High School Students

There are five open opportunities for you to learn more about quantum science this summer!  Here are the two with upcoming deadlines, for students in IL, CA, and NM.

PRISM – This Fermilab Program for Research, Innovation, and STEM Mentorship is a paid summer research opportunity for IL high school seniors and recent graduates focusing on particle physics, quantum science, engineering design, and artificial intelligence.  Program dates are July 14-August 8, 2025, and students are paid a $500/week stipend.  Deadline: March 15!

QCaMP – This is a 4-week long summer camp for high school students and recent graduates aged 16+ led by Sandia National Labs and Berkeley Labs.  The program runs June 30-July 25 in Berkeley, CA, Albuquerque, NM, and Santa Fe, NM.  Participants are paid $500/week.  Deadline: April 1!

Undergraduate Students

If you’re still looking for PAID opportunities to do quantum research this summer as an undergraduate student, there are several Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) with deadlines this month!

QU-REACH – Quantum Undergraduate Research Experience at CHTM is a 10-week summer undergraduate research program at the University of New Mexico’s Center for High Technology Materials.  The program runs May 27-August 1, 2025 and pays a stipend of $7,000 for the summer with a limited number of housing stipends available for students outside of Albuquerque.  Applications are open to all undergraduate students currently attending any college or university in the state of New Mexico.  Deadline: March 7!

Quantum@UW – This REU Program is a 10-week NSF-funded research program at the University of Washington in Seattle.  The program runs June 22-August 30, 2025 and pays a stipend of $7,000 for the summer with participants receiving free on-campus housing, a travel allowance, and a small meal allowance.  Deadline: March 12!

ASU SenSIP REU Site: Quantum Machine Learning Algorithm Design and Implementation – This REU program is an 8-week summer program introducing students to quantum computing, machine learning, AI, quantum information processing, and more.  The program runs May-July 2025.  Deadline: March 15!

QIS 101: Introduction to Quantum Computing 2025 – This is a virtual summer school hosted by C2QA and Brookhaven National Lab aimed at introducing Quantum Information Science to college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates.  The program runs June 9-July 18 and participants receive a stipend of $500/week.  Deadline: March 31!
