Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day! I wanted to remind you all that the deadline for the Minority Serving Institutions Internship Program is Sunday, October 22nd at 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. This is a great program open to undergraduate students at 2- and 4-year Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). There are 850 accredited MSIs here in the U.S.! If you’re not sure if you’re attending one, you can check the list here. This is a great opportunity that spans multiple national labs, meaning you can specify a preference to be matched up with a particular lab (like Sandia National Laboratories, where I work!) and/or project areas. Note that these internships cover many disciplines – not just quantum science.

The high school teacher program Schrodinger’s Class at the University of Waterloo has an upcoming deadline of Monday, October 16th. This is a fantastic workshop held December 1-3, 2023 in Waterloo, Canada that equips you with the ability to bring quantum science into your classrooms. If you don’t live near Waterloo, that’s ok! They have funding to cover your room and travel!

Additional internship opportunities have been posted to the Opportunities for Undergraduates page! These include a physics internship at Lawrence Livermore National Lab, a microfabrication internship at MIT Lincoln Labs, a student resesarch internship at Google, and an Internet of Things (IOT) software engineering internship at Keysight.
