MSIPP Deadline and New Internships

One final reminder that the deadline for the Minority Serving Institutions Internship Program is Sunday, October 22nd at 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. This is a great program open to undergraduate students at 2- and 4-year Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). There are 850 accredited MSIs here in the U.S.! If you’re not sure if you’re attending one, you can check the list here. This is a great opportunity that spans multiple national labs, meaning you can specify a preference to be matched up with a particular lab (like Sandia National Laboratories, where I work!) and/or project areas. Note that these internships cover many disciplines – not just quantum science.

I also posted five additional opportunities today including a Quantum Back-End software Developer Internship and Quantum Hardware Engineer Internship at IBM, a Quantum Algorithms and Optimization Research Experience for Undergraduates at University of Tennessee, a Quantum Systems Student Research Assistant at Georgia Tech Research Institute, and a Quantum Information & Nanosystems Research Internship at MIT Lincoln Lab. I’ve listed these in Undergraduate Opportunities, but they may be open to community college students as well — check the details!

I also had the opportunity to have lunch with the National Laboratories Education Directors Committee today and am very excited about several camps and internships they have planned for high school students and teachers in Summer 2024. I’ll post as the applications go live!

Finally, I hope many of you had a chance to step outside on Saturday and experience the annular eclipse!
